CASUAL CATERING AND HOSPITALITY ASSISTANT

0 - 20 HOURS PER WEEK // £12.21 per hour (National Living Wage)

Casual Catering & Hospitality Assistants play an important role in the UEA’s ‘The Campus Kitchen’, in providing effective support, to the highest standard, in the operation of all food services throughout the day. The tasks undertaken range from assisting with store deliveries, preparation of foods, serving customers in outlets, hospitality deliveries, general cleaning, washing of equipment to serving tea, coffee and prepared dishes to a variety of customers and assisting at functions and events.

We are looking for staff to work across campus, including the following areas:

Modern Life Café – counter service for breakfast and lunch with barista coffee, as well as fine dining events and banqueting.

Unio – barista outlet serving freshly made filled flatbreads, patisserie, barista coffee, hot drinks and bubble tea.

Sportscafe – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving counter snacks and patisserie, main meals, and events.

You will demonstrate the ability to manage your time effectively within a fast-paced environment; be of smart appearance; consistently demonstrate good customer service; display enthusiasm and have a willingness to help your team. Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment with some barista training or experience is preferred, but not essential. Successful candidates must be available for an in-person training and induction session on Thursday 19th March 2026 at 17:00pm.
